Bio
Recruited from St Patrick’s College in Ballarat, Les Mogg was a skilled wingman and half-forward who became a regular fixture in the North Melbourne lineup during the early 1950s. He played a significant role in the club's history as a member of the 1950 Grand Final side—the Shinboners' first appearance in a VFL decider—and his form was strong enough to earn state selection for Victoria in 1952. Despite entering the prime of his career, Mogg left Arden Street at just 25 years of age to pursue business interests and a captain-coaching role with Cobram in the Murray Football League. He subsequently cemented a legacy as a country football giant, leading the Tigers to four premierships and dominating the competition as a forward to such an extent that the league’s goalkicking medal was later named in his honour.
