Bio
Recruited from Griffith in the Riverina district of New South Wales, Les Parish arrived at Fitzroy as a mature-age recruit in 1980 and immediately established himself as a vital component of the Lions' midfield setup. A crafty rover who could also drift effectively into the forward pocket, Parish was renowned for his evasive capabilities, clean disposal, and clever usage of the ball in congested situations. He played a significant role during a resurgence for the club, featuring prominently in the finals campaigns of the early 1980s while supporting high-profile teammates like Garry Wilson and Bernie Quinlan. Parish remained a consistent ball-winner and reliable servant for Fitzroy over six seasons before departing the VFL scene at the conclusion of 1985.
