Bio
The younger brother of Fitzroy champion and future Collingwood President Jim Sharp, Les Sharp was a depth forward who struggled to cement a regular spot in the Maroons' formidable lineup during their "Golden Era." Recruited from the local district, he debuted in 1904 but found himself fighting for selection in a star-studded squad that boasted the likes of Percy Trotter and Gerald Brosnan. Sharp managed just five appearances in each of the back-to-back premiership years of 1904 and 1905, playing a supporting role during the home-and-away seasons but missing out on the Grand Final teams that secured the flags. After a year out of the league in 1906, he returned to Brunswick Street for two final campaigns, eventually retiring with 23 games and 12 goals to his name before joining his brother in running the prominent Allan Photographic Studio in Melbourne.
