Bio
Recruited from Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula, Les Stephens joined Geelong as the VFL resumed full competition following the First World War. He made his senior debut in 1919 and quickly demonstrated an ability to hit the scoreboard, operating as a forward who averaged a goal a game during his short stint at Corio Oval. While his VFL career was brief—spanning just seven matches across the 1919 and 1920 seasons—he was part of a productive recruiting pipeline from the "Coutas" that would serve the club well throughout the decade. Stephens finished his time in the league with seven goals to his name before departing the senior scene.
