Bio
Recruited from the Port Adelaide Magpies with pick 32 in the 2007 National Draft, Levi Greenwood began his career at North Melbourne as a tough, inside midfielder. While he took time to establish himself in the senior side, he produced a breakout season in 2014, averaging 25 disposals and finishing equal-second in the Syd Barker Medal. Capitalising on this career-best form, he requested a trade to Collingwood at the end of that season, seeking greater security and a longer-term deal that the Kangaroos were initially hesitant to match.
At Collingwood, Greenwood reinvented himself from a pure ball-winner into one of the competition's most disciplined run-with players. Renowned for his physical aggression and tackling pressure, he famously claimed the scalps of several elite midfielders, becoming a vital structural component of the Magpies' engine room. However, his tenure at the club was frequently interrupted by injury, including a ruptured ACL in 2019 that sidelined him for a significant period. After struggling to overcome persistent concussion symptoms following a head knock early in the 2021 season, he was forced into immediate retirement, concluding his career as a highly respected and uncompromising competitor.
