Teams

Recruited from the Dandenong Stingrays with pick 75 in the 2012 National Draft, Lewis Pierce was a developing ruckman whose career at St Kilda was defined by patience and fierce positional competition. Standing at 202cm, he spent the vast majority of his seven seasons plying his trade for Sandringham in the VFL, often finding his pathway to the senior side blocked by established ruckmen Ben McEvoy, Billy Longer, and Tom Hickey. Pierce made his long-awaited debut in 2016 against the Western Bulldogs, four years after being drafted, but a combination of injuries and the Saints' ruck depth prevented him from stringing games together. Despite showing promise as a tap ruckman at the state league level, he was unable to cement a place in the best 22 and was delisted at the conclusion of the 2019 season.
