Bio
Recruited from North Reservoir, Lex Dwyer was a utility capable of playing forward who faced a difficult task breaking into a competitive Fitzroy lineup in the mid-1970s. Restricted to just a handful of appearances over three years, he was often on the fringe of senior selection before departing the VFL system at the end of 1977. Dwyer revitalised his career in the VFA with Prahran, where he enjoyed immediate success as a member of their 1978 squad. His football legacy is defined by his performance in that year's Grand Final against Preston, where he kicked a goal to help the Two Blues secure a memorable premiership victory.
