Bio
A versatile utility recruited from the Caledonians in Ararat, Lex Pritchard arrived at Victoria Park in the mid-1970s but faced a difficult task breaking into a resurgent Collingwood outfit. Standing 180cm with a solid frame, he showed promise as a goal-kicking option in the reserves, booting 24 goals in 27 games at the lower level. Pritchard made his senior debut against North Melbourne in Round 7, 1976, but found opportunities scarce under coach Tom Hafey as the Magpies built toward their famous 1977 Grand Final campaign. Restricted to just three senior appearances across two seasons, he managed to slot a goal in a win over St Kilda in 1977 but ultimately could not secure a regular spot in the talented lineup before departing the VFL scene.
