Bio
Recruited as a mature-age prospect from East Fremantle, Liam Anthony joined North Melbourne with pick 43 in the 2008 National Draft after dominating the WAFL. He wasted little time translating his state-league form to the top level, quickly establishing himself as a high-production midfielder with an elite ability to find space and accumulate uncontested possessions. While he became a reliable link-up player for the Kangaroos, his career was punctuated by frustrating injuries, including a stress fracture in his foot and a severed finger tendon that hampered his continuity. As the club developed a more abrasive, contested midfield unit, Anthony fell down the pecking order and struggled to translate his dominant VFL form into regular senior selection. He was delisted at the conclusion of the 2014 season, leaving Arden Street as a hardworking ball magnet who provided valuable depth during a transitional period for the side.
