Bio
Hailing from Lake Grace in regional Western Australia, Liam Baker was originally overlooked in the national draft before being recruited by Richmond via the rookie list from Subiaco. He defied his 173cm frame to become an integral member of the Tigers' dynasty, playing a crucial role in the 2019 and 2020 premiership victories. Renowned for his courage and versatility, Baker was frequently deployed as the team's "Mr Fix-it," capable of impacting the game as a lockdown small defender, a high-pressure forward, or a hard-at-it midfielder. His consistency was recognised with high finishes in the best and fairest and elevation to the leadership group, establishing him as a cult figure at Punt Road.
Following the 2024 season, Baker requested a trade back to his home state, joining the West Coast Eagles to help steer their rebuild. His arrival brought significant premiership experience and on-field leadership to a young squad eager for direction. Since crossing to the Eagles, he has continued to display his trademark toughness and work rate, surpassing the 150-game milestone and serving as a vital mentor for the club's emerging core.
