Bio
A product of the Brisbane Lions Academy, Liam Dawson was a versatile tall drafted from the Aspley Hornets who offered utility value at both ends of the ground. While he possessed strong hands and the ability to read the play as an intercepting defender, he struggled to lock down a permanent position in the Lions' best 22 during a difficult rebuilding era for the club. He made sporadic appearances over four seasons, often being shuffled between forward and defensive roles, before being delisted at the end of 2018. Dawson subsequently returned to Aspley in the QAFL where he flourished as a dominant state-league footballer, a tenure highlighted by his performance in the 2022 Grand Final where he won the Joe Grant Medal for best on ground in a premiership victory.
