Bio
Originally drafted by Collingwood as a key defender with pick 31 in the 2020 National Draft, Liam McMahon spent two seasons on the Magpies' list without breaking into the senior side. Following his delisting at the end of 2022, he joined Carlton's VFL program where he reinvented himself as a deep forward, a transition that culminated in him winning the Frosty Miller Medal as the state league's leading goalkicker in 2024. His dominant VFL form earned him a lifeline with Essendon, allowing him to finally make his AFL debut in 2025. Now operating as a strong-marking target inside 50, McMahon showed immediate promise by kicking 12 goals in his first seven games, establishing himself as a potent scoring option as he fights to secure a permanent role in the Bombers' attack.
