Stats
Bio
Recruited from the Hawthorn Rovers, Lindsay Maine arrived at South Melbourne in 1907 and quickly secured a regular spot in the senior lineup. He proved to be a reliable defensive option during his debut season, featuring in 13 consecutive games for the Southerners without registering a goal. However, his time at the Lake Oval was relatively brief; after managing just three appearances in the opening rounds of 1908, Maine requested a mid-season clearance to the Victorian Football Association. Crossing over to the Essendon Association club that June, he found greater longevity in the VFA competition, eventually playing over 70 games and earning representative honours for the Association in a 1911 interstate clash against South Australia.
