Bio
Recruited from the Yea Football Club in the Waranga North East Football Association, Lindsay McLure was a tall key position prospect who arrived at the Western Oval in 1937. Standing at 187cm, he possessed the physical attributes of a ruckman or key forward, providing a towering option for Footscray during an era when such height was a significant asset. Despite his physical presence, McLure found opportunities scarce at the senior level, managing just four games across two seasons and drifting forward to boot two career goals. He struggled to cement a regular spot in the starting eighteen and departed the VFL scene following the 1938 season, remaining one of the many country recruits who had a brief taste of league football before moving on.
