Bio
Born on the leap day of 1980, Lindsay Smith was a 199cm ruckman and key position prospect originally recruited from Glenelg in the SANFL. After spending two seasons on North Melbourne's list for a solitary senior appearance, he was traded to Carlton at the end of 2001, arriving at Princes Park during the same off-season roster overhaul that delivered Corey McKernan to the Blues. A raw talent known for his impressive vertical leap and athleticism, Smith was utilized as a backup ruck and forward target but struggled to consistently clunk contested marks at the elite level. He added just three games in navy blue before being delisted at the end of 2002, eventually becoming a dominant figure and premiership player for Geelong Amateur in local football.
