Bio
Recruited from East Perth with pick 18 in the 2003 National Draft, Llane Spaanderman arrived at the Brisbane Lions as a highly touted key position prospect during the tail end of the club's premiership dynasty. Possessing strong hands and natural goal-kicking ability, the tall forward managed to break into the senior side for three games in 2004 but struggled to meet the rigorous fitness and professional standards required at the elite level. After being delisted by the Lions following the 2005 season, he returned to his home state and was thrown a lifeline by West Coast in the 2007 Rookie Draft. Despite his obvious talent, Spaanderman was unable to crack the Eagles' senior lineup and was delisted after one season, eventually fulfilling his potential at state league level as a Bernie Naylor Medallist for East Perth.
