Stats
Bio
Recruited from Prahran, Lou Salvana joined Melbourne during the club's chaotic 1919 return to competition, a season where the team went winless following a three-year wartime recess. Playing as a forward, he managed three goals across six senior appearances, debuting in Round 5 but failing to cement a permanent spot in a side that was routinely outclassed by superior opposition. His brief and difficult stint in the VFL ultimately served as a footnote to a distinguished cricket career; known as "Charles" on the pitch, he became a dashing opening batsman for Hawthorn-East Melbourne and represented Victoria in the Sheffield Shield, proving far more prolific with the bat than he had been with the boot.
