Bio
A product of the Norwood Football Club in the SANFL, Luke Brown found his way to West Lakes via a strategic trade involving Greater Western Sydney. While the Giants pre-listed the South Australian talent ahead of their entry into the AFL, he was immediately dealt to the Crows without ever playing a game for the expansion side. Brown debuted in 2012 and quickly cemented his place in Adelaide's best 22, effectively taking over the small defender mantle from retiring veteran Michael Doughty.
Over the next decade, Brown established himself as one of the league's most reliable lockdown specialists. Often tasked with silencing the opposition's most dangerous small forwards, he performed his role with high efficiency and minimal fuss, rarely lowering his colours in one-on-one contests. He was a key pillar of the Adelaide defence that reached the 2017 Grand Final and remained an integral figure during the club's rebuild, finishing third in the 2020 Malcolm Blight Medal count. After battling persistent injuries late in his career, he retired in 2022 as a highly respected one-club player with 189 games to his credit.
