Bio
Recruited via the 2011 Rookie Draft from the Geelong Falcons, Luke Dahlhaus quickly evolved from a cult figure recognisable by his dreadlocks into a serious midfield-forward threat for the Western Bulldogs. Renowned for his manic pressure and ability to win the hard ball, he transitioned from a pockets-based role into the engine room, becoming an integral component of the Bulldogs' drought-breaking 2016 premiership side where his tackling intensity set the standard. His capacity to harass defenders and create scoring chains made him one of the most effective high-half-forwards in the competition during his peak at the Kennel.
At the conclusion of the 2018 season, Dahlhaus exercised his free agency rights to move to Geelong, seeking a fresh environment after a difficult final year with the Bulldogs. At the Cats, he was deployed primarily as a defensive forward, tasked with applying heat and locking the ball inside 50 rather than accumulating high possession numbers. He played a key role in Geelong's run to the 2020 Grand Final but fell out of favour in his final season as younger options emerged, eventually retiring in 2022 as a premiership player with over 200 games of experience.
