Stats
Bio
Originally recruited from Horsham, Luke Donald entered the AFL system carrying significant expectations after St Kilda selected him with pick 10 in the 1989 National Draft. A forward capable of hitting the scoreboard, he broke into the senior side early in his tenure at Moorabbin but found it difficult to cement a permanent position in the Saints' best 22. After two seasons marked by sporadic appearances, he was delisted and subsequently thrown a lifeline by Richmond, who selected him in the 1992 Pre-Season Draft. Despite this second opportunity at Punt Road, Donald was unable to add to his senior game tally with the Tigers, leaving the league as a high-drafted talent whose opportunities remained limited at the top level.
