Bio
Taken with the fourth overall selection in the 2000 National Draft, Luke Livingston arrived at Princes Park carrying the heavy expectations associated with a top-five pick. A tall key position prospect from the Bendigo Pioneers, he was initially touted as a long-term solution for the Blues' spine but spent the majority of his career operating as a key defender. His tenure coincided with a tumultuous era for the club as it entered a period of historic on-field struggle, and Livingston found it difficult to establish consistency amidst injuries and frequent omissions. Despite his size and athleticism, he struggled to dominate contests or secure a permanent role in the backline, often finding himself caught between VFL form and senior opportunities. He was ultimately delisted at the conclusion of the 2006 season, leaving the AFL having been unable to reach the heights suggested by his junior pedigree.
