Bio
Recruited from North Adelaide with pick 18 in the 2009 National Draft, Luke Tapscott arrived at Melbourne with high expectations attached to his ready-made frame and booming left-foot kick. A strongly built utility often deployed across half-back or as a defensive forward, he relied on his physical size and long-range distribution to impact contests during a difficult era for the Demons. Despite showing early promise as a penetrating ball-user in his 2011 debut season, his career was heavily restricted by persistent injuries and fitness struggles that prevented him from finding continuity at the senior level. Unable to cement a regular position in the best 22, Tapscott was delisted at the conclusion of the 2014 season after five years on the list.
