Bio
Recruited from West Perth with pick 19 in the 1995 National Draft, Luke Toia was a compact, highly skillful midfielder and half-forward who teased Fremantle fans with his potential but struggled for continuity. Possessing a low centre of gravity and clean disposal, he was capable of bursting through packs and finishing clinically around goal, playing his best football during the 2000 season where he managed a career-high 19 appearances. However, his eight-year tenure at the Dockers was defined largely by frustration, as persistent soft tissue and structural injuries repeatedly interrupted his momentum. Toia was ultimately delisted at the end of the 2003 season, leaving the club as a talented player whose body rarely allowed him to deliver on his promise.
