Bio
Recruited from Central District in the SANFL, Lyle Skinner's brief VFL cameo was a product of circumstance rather than a traditional transfer, as he joined Fitzroy while stationed in Victoria for National Service. A talented centreman, Skinner managed just two senior appearances for the Lions in 1971, debuting in a win over North Melbourne before booting his solitary VFL goal against Collingwood the following week. He subsequently returned to South Australia to cement his legacy as a Bulldogs stalwart, playing over a decade of senior football and captaining Central District for two seasons in the late 1970s.
