Bio
Recruited from local western suburbs club Deer Park, Lynton Fitzpatrick was a defender who managed 18 senior games for Footscray between 1987 and 1989. He struggled to cement a permanent spot in the Bulldogs' defensive unit and was eventually delisted, though he briefly received a lifeline when Geelong selected him in the 1990 Pre-Season Draft. While he did not add to his senior game tally with the Cats, Fitzpatrick found his true footballing home in the VFA with Werribee. He forged a distinguished career with the Tigers, captaining the club and winning the Best and Fairest award in 1995 to cement his status as one of the standout VFA defenders of the 1990s.
