Bio
Majella Day is a highly rated small forward who has emerged as a top prospect through the GWS Giants Academy and Murray Bushrangers. Hailing from Lockhart before playing her community football with Lavington, Day has shown immense dedication to the elite pathway, regularly travelling long distances to train. She starred for the Allies at the Under-18 National Championships, highlighted by a dominant four-goal performance in a win over Vic Country. Her ability was also on show for the Giants Academy, notably kicking a seven-goal haul in a standout display against the Gold Coast Suns Academy.
Day is a damaging and versatile player whose game is defined by excellent craft and goal sense. Coaches have praised her development away from the ball and her ability to impact contests at ground level, consistently snapping goals through congestion rather than relying solely on her marking. Having earned selection in the National Academy and an invite to the national Draft Combine in Melbourne, Day is widely viewed as one of the best forward prospects in the 2026 draft pool and is expected to be taken early.
