Stats
Bio
Originally hailing from the Tiwi Islands before moving to Sydney to board at Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview, Malcolm Lynch was a speedy utility who entered the AFL system via the Western Bulldogs. Selected with pick 66 in the 2006 National Draft, he was utilised primarily as a dashing small defender capable of breaking lines with his pace. Lynch made his senior debut in Round 12, 2007 against Fremantle and played two consecutive matches, but he struggled to cement a regular spot in the Bulldogs' lineup over three injury-interrupted seasons. After being delisted in 2009, he spent time in the VFL—winning a premiership with Port Melbourne—and made history during this hiatus as the first Indigenous Australian to set foot on Antarctica during a leadership expedition. His strong state league form earned him a lifeline from North Melbourne in the 2012 Rookie Draft, though he was unable to add to his career game tally during his brief stint at Arden Street.
