A persistent mature-age recruit, Mani Liddy had to take the long road to the AFL, originating from Sturt’s junior program before switching to Central District in the SANFL to reignite his career. His perseverance paid off in 2025 when a dominant display for the SANFL state team—earning him the Fos Williams Medal—caught the eye of Port Adelaide recruiters, who selected him with pick 16 in the Mid-Season Draft. A qualified refrigeration mechanic by trade, Liddy brought a blue-collar work ethic to Alberton, immediately impressing with his contested ball-winning ability and clean hands at stoppages. He wasted no time making his mark, debuting just weeks after being listed and playing nine games in his first half-season, establishing himself as a tenacious inside midfielder fighting for a permanent spot in the Power’s engine room.
