Bio
A graduate of St Kilda's Next Generation Academy, Marcus Windhager joined the club via the 2021 National Draft after the Saints matched a bid to secure the powerful utility. Overcoming a back injury that hampered his draft year, he quickly established himself at senior level by displaying a maturity beyond his years, particularly when entrusted with disciplined run-with roles on the competition's premier midfielders. While his early career was defined by these defensive tagging jobs and stints across half-back, Windhager eventually transitioned into a more permanent fixture in the Saints' engine room. Known for his explosive burst from stoppages and strong frame, he has cemented his spot in St Kilda's best 22, evolving from a raw prospect into a reliable two-way midfielder who balances defensive accountability with contested ball-winning capability.
