Bio
A highly rated rover recruited from East Fremantle in the WAFL, Mario Turco arrived at North Melbourne fresh off a premiership victory in 1979. Known for his goal-kicking ability and endurance, he sought to test himself in the VFL but found opportunities limited in a formidable Kangaroos squad that featured established midfield stars. Turco managed just nine senior games across three seasons at Arden Street, though he showed glimpses of his talent by averaging a goal a game. Unable to secure a permanent place in the senior side, he eventually returned to East Fremantle, where he cemented his legacy as a club stalwart by playing a pivotal role in their 1985 premiership triumph.
