Bio
Recruited from South Fremantle, Mark Bayliss arrived at Victoria Park as a mature-age key forward prospect ahead of the 1989 season. He made an immediate impression on debut, booting three goals against North Melbourne at the MCG to suggest he could become a viable focal point in the Magpies' attack. However, despite a respectable return of six goals in his first few outings, Bayliss found himself unable to secure a permanent place in Leigh Matthews' senior side amid fierce competition for spots. After managing just four appearances in the black and white, he returned to Western Australia where he resumed a prolific career in the WAFL.
