Bio
Born in St Kilda, Mark Cumming was the elder brother of fellow Saint and Melbourne player Dave Cumming. He was recruited from Perth in the West Australian Football Association, returning to his home state to play four games for St Kilda during the club's winless 1898 VFL season. A utility who failed to score during his brief stint, Cumming was part of a struggling lineup that frequently turned over its list in search of competitiveness during the league's formative years. Following his short VFL career, he eventually returned to Western Australia, where he lived until his death in 1939.
