Bio
Recruited from Koroit in the Hampden Football League, Mark Dwyer was a small utility who arrived at Fitzroy during the mid-1980s. He made his senior debut in 1986 but found it difficult to break into a strong Lions lineup that was regularly contesting finals, restricting him to sporadic appearances over two seasons. In search of greater opportunities, Dwyer transferred to St Kilda for the 1988 season, where he rotated between the midfield and forward pocket. Despite the change of scenery and the Saints' struggles near the bottom of the ladder, he was unable to cement a permanent spot in the senior side and his VFL career concluded after just one year at Moorabbin.
