Bio
Recruited from North Reservoir, Mark Lawson was a small defender who broke into the Collingwood side late in the 1982 season. Standing at 175cm, he made his debut in Round 17 against Essendon and retained his place for the final six games of the year, showing promise in the back half. despite this solid start, Lawson struggled to cement a permanent spot in the senior lineup over the subsequent two seasons, managing just five more appearances between 1983 and 1984. Following his departure from Victoria Park, he moved to South Australia where he found greater consistency with Port Adelaide in the SANFL, playing 36 games, before eventually returning to Victoria to compete for Preston in the VFA.
