Bio
Recruited from the Hamilton Imperials, Mark Orval was a powerfully built key forward who arrived at Victoria Park with the potential to become a long-term spearhead for the Magpies. He offered a glimpse of that talent in the final round of 1987, booting four goals in a thrilling win over Essendon just weeks after his debut. However, Orval's promising career was cruelly cut short by the "dreaded navicular" bone fracture in his foot, a persistent injury that restricted him to just one more senior game before forcing him into premature retirement. While he remained connected to the club as a board member of the Past Players Association, he later gained a massive new audience as the unwilling star of the viral "Angry Dad" social media videos.
