Bio
Recruited from the Murray Bushrangers with pick 49 in the 2001 National Draft, Mark Powell was a midfield utility who struggled to cement a spot at the elite level during a strong era for the Sydney Swans. Despite showing promise as a hard-running option capable of playing off half-back, he managed just seven senior appearances over four seasons in the Harbour City before being traded to the Kangaroos in exchange for a late draft pick ahead of the 2006 season. The change of scenery failed to yield greater opportunities, however, as Powell added only a solitary game to his career tally at Arden Street before being delisted by North Melbourne at the conclusion of the year.
