Family

Drafted from West Perth with pick 22 in the 2001 National Draft, Mark Seaby established himself as a reliable tap ruckman capable of drifting forward to hit the scoreboard. His tenure at West Coast was defined by his effective partnership with Dean Cox, creating a formidable ruck duo that underpinned the Eagles' dominant midfield of the mid-2000s. This combination was integral to the club's success, culminating in Seaby playing every game during the 2006 premiership campaign, where his support role allowed the Eagles' star on-ballers to thrive.

Despite his contributions, the emergence of Nic Naitanui eventually limited Seaby's opportunities in the starting lineup, prompting a trade to the Sydney Swans at the end of 2009 in search of a primary ruck role. His time in Sydney started brightly but was ultimately derailed by serious injuries, including a broken ankle, and fierce competition from Shane Mumford and Mike Pyke. Although his stint in the Harbour City was restricted to limited appearances over three seasons, Seaby retired as a premiership player who played a vital structural role during one of West Coast's most successful eras.
