Bio
Recruited from the prestigious Assumption College football program, Mark Stockdale was a towering key position prospect who arrived at Punt Road standing 195cm tall. Primarily a forward target known for his strong overhead marking, he spent his early years developing in the reserves before breaking through for his senior debut late in the 1989 season. His progress was severely hampered by injury, however, forcing him to miss the entire 1990 campaign and stalling his momentum at the top level. Stockdale fought his way back into the senior side in 1991 after showing promising form in the seconds, but he struggled to cement a permanent spot in the Tigers' lineup. Following his delisting at the end of that season, he moved to the TFL, where he successfully reinvented himself as a leading goalkicker for North Launceston.
