Bio
Recruited from St Leo's College, Mark Turner was a tall utility who entered the VFL during Hawthorn’s golden era. Standing at 188cm, he offered versatility as a key position player or flanker but faced the difficult task of cracking a lineup stacked with legends like Matthews, Tuck, and Knights. Consequently, he spent five seasons on the fringe of the senior side, often serving as a depth player while the Hawks pushed for premierships in the early 1980s. After departing Glenferrie Oval, Turner found regular team success in the VFA, notably playing on a half-back flank in Box Hill’s 1986 Second Division premiership side before finishing his football journey as the playing coach of the Wodonga Raiders in the Ovens & Murray Football League.
