Bio
Recruited from the prolific Terang football nursery in western Victoria, Martin Heffernan was a small utility who faced the difficult task of breaking into a strong Geelong squad that was regularly contending for finals. He managed just two senior appearances for the Cats in 1992 before being traded to the Brisbane Bears in exchange for a late draft pick, as the Queensland club looked to add listed depth to its developing squad. Heffernan played a further three games and kicked two goals during the 1993 season but could not cement a permanent position in the senior lineup, departing the AFL landscape after a brief two-year stint at the top level.
