Stats
Bio
Recruited from Parkside in the local Footscray District League, Matt Byrachevski was a diminutive rover and small forward who earned his opportunity with the Bulldogs during the 1980 season. Standing at just 169cm, he fit the mould of the era's nippy crumbing forwards, relying on agility and goal sense to impact contests against larger opponents. He made his senior debut in Round 7 against Fitzroy and managed to impact the scoreboard during his brief tenure, booting two goals across three consecutive appearances. Despite showing he could find the goals at the top level, Byrachevski was unable to displace the club's established small men to cement a permanent spot in the senior lineup. His VFL career remained confined to that single month of football, after which he returned to the local leagues, remembered as a product of the club's deep connection to the western suburbs recruiting zone.
