Bio
Recruited from East Fremantle with the third selection in the 1991 National Draft, Matt Clape was a versatile left-footer who could impact contests across half-forward or the wing. He tasted immediate success as part of West Coast's historic 1992 premiership side, yet despite his talent, he was delisted by the Eagles following the 1994 season as the club managed its list pressures. Carlton offered him a lifeline in the pre-season draft, a move that paid immediate dividends as Clape played every game of the Blues' dominant 1995 campaign to secure his second premiership medallion. Although soft-tissue injuries limited his impact in his final years at Princes Park, he holds the distinction of being a dual premiership player across two powerhouse clubs of the 1990s.
