Bio
Recruited from Woodville-West Torrens with pick 42 in the 2012 National Draft, Matt McDonough was a neatly skilled utility best known for his penetrating left-foot kick. Initially deployed as a rebounding defender capable of setting up play from the back half, he made his debut late in the 2013 season against Carlton. Despite showing glimpses of his distributing capacity across seven matches in 2014, McDonough struggled to consistently impact contests or displace established senior players in the Tigers' backline. He managed just two further appearances in 2015 before being delisted, unable to cement a regular spot in a Richmond side that was actively competing for finals action.
