Teams

Recruited from the Oakleigh Chargers with pick 55 in the 2011 National Draft, Matt Arnot was a compact, aggressive midfielder and forward who built a reputation as a contested ball-winner. Known affectionately as "Biscuits" (a play on the Arnott's brand), he played with a physical intensity that drew comparisons to his coach Damian Hardwick, often dominating at VFL level with his tackling and hard-at-it approach. However, he struggled to cement a regular spot in the senior side, frequently finding himself on the fringe of a developing Tigers lineup that was pushing for finals. After being delisted and immediately re-drafted as a rookie for the 2015 season, Arnot played a final handful of games before departing the club, remembered as a wholehearted competitor who couldn't quite bridge the gap between state league dominance and AFL consistency.
