Bio
Recruited from East Fremantle, Matthew Clucas arrived at the Dockers via selection 46 in the 1996 National Draft. A small midfielder standing 174cm, he found it difficult to command a regular place in the Fremantle engine room, drifting in and out of the side for 11 games between 1997 and 1999. Unable to break into the senior team throughout the 2000 season, he was eventually delisted, though he subsequently forged a distinguished career in the WAFL. Clucas became one of the few players to taste premiership success with both East Fremantle and South Fremantle, capping his state league tenure with a best and fairest award for the Bulldogs in 2001.
