Bio
Recruited from the Northern Knights with pick 24 in the 1994 National Draft, Matthew Collins was a skilful utility who began his career with Adelaide. After a promising debut season in 1996 where he featured regularly, he struggled to break into the Crows' dominant premiership lineup the following year and requested a trade to Melbourne in search of greater opportunity. At the Demons, Collins was utilised as a running midfielder and half-back flanker known for his neat disposal, playing a key role in the club's run to the 1998 Preliminary Final. Despite his versatility, he was unable to secure a permanent position in the senior side over subsequent seasons and was delisted at the end of 2001.
