Bio
Recruited from the Eastern Ranges with pick 40 in the 1997 National Draft, Matthew Dennis was a ruckman who struggled to cement a place in Hawthorn's senior lineup. Arriving at Glenferrie Oval as the club sought long-term tall options, he found his opportunities limited behind established big man Paul Salmon. Dennis managed just five games across the 1998 and 1999 seasons, failing to secure a regular position before being delisted at the conclusion of his second year.
