Recruited from Glenelg with pick 33 in the 1998 National Draft, Matthew Golding joined the Adelaide Crows during the club's formidable post-premiership era. A versatile utility capable of playing in defence or through the midfield, he faced the difficult task of breaking into a star-studded lineup while battling persistent injury setbacks. Golding managed just seven senior appearances across three seasons at West Lakes, struggling to cement a permanent spot before being delisted at the end of 2001.
