Bio
Recruited from Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL, Matthew Kluzek originally spent time on Melbourne's list in the early 1990s but failed to crack the senior side before returning to South Australia. He was handed a lifeline by the Adelaide Crows in the 1994 Pre-Season Draft and made an immediate impression as a medium forward. His career highlight came almost instantly; in just his third AFL game, he booted five goals in a match-winning performance against West Coast, earning a Rising Star nomination. Despite this electric start, Kluzek struggled to cement a permanent spot in the starting 22, playing sporadic roles over the next two seasons before departing the AFL to return to the Eagles in the SANFL.
