Bio
Recruited as a mature-age prospect from South Fremantle with pick 47 in the 2018 National Draft, Matthew Parker immediately added an edge to St Kilda's forward line with his explosive speed and aggressive tackling pressure. After a promising debut year where he played 17 games, his form drifted during the 2020 season, resulting in his delisting and a return to the WAFL. His continued strong performances at state level earned him a second chance in the elite system when Richmond selected him in the 2021 Mid-Season Rookie Draft to inject X-factor into their attack. While Parker provided glimpses of his athleticism and defensive intensity across two seasons at Punt Road, he was unable to cement a permanent spot in the Tigers' best 22 and was delisted for a second time at the conclusion of the 2022 season.
